Hainan Province stipulates a total ban on non-degradable disposable plastic shopping bags and catering utensils from December 2020, Jilin Province has been implementing a province-wide "plastic ban" since January 1, 2015, and some cities in China have started to enforce the classification of urban waste. The greening of e-commerce packaging, postal express packaging and take-away packaging has been the trend.
The production, sale and use of biodegradable materials are gradually transitioning from demonstration and promotion to large-scale industrialization.
At present, the global production capacity of biodegradable plastics is about 1000 kt, with an annual growth rate of more than 20%. PLA, PHA, PBAT, PPC and other biodegradable materials have not only improved significantly in performance, but also reduced production cost and increased market competitiveness. It is also starting to be used in the field of daily necessities such as fiber, daily film bags and agricultural film.
